Ashok Syal – Co-Founder & CEO
Mr. Syal is the co-founder of Waterneer. A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Ashok is an accomplished visionary with domestic and international experience in operations, management, technology development, acquisitions, and strategic planning. He has a long and distinguished record as one of the original platform architects of the HCL Group (India). Ashok’s accomplishment has included setting up and growing manufacturing and sales organizations in India, Japan and the Americas across the technology spectrum. He has undertaken multiple M&A activities for HCL, India. He runs a flourishing company, Sumpraxis in USA focusing on Intellectual Property management, Management Consulting for new market penetration for companies in USA and EU. He is presently guiding Waterneer to expand in India and US markets. A passionate engineer with expertise in technology transfer, manufacturing migration and intellectual property.Mr Syal has formulated many Joint Ventures, unique Partnerships and Alliances in the IT, BPO services sector and now in the Wastewater and Sewage treatment sector. Ashok is frequently requested to speak at forums and alumni gatherings, to detail his experiences and thought leadership. He is recognized as an enabler. San Sengupta – Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer
San is the CMO responsible for Sales and Marketing. He is primarily focused on business development for the North American market. In the last 25 years, as an executive of Microsoft and IBM, he managed Sales, Marketing & New Business Development for North America and the Asia Pacific Region. San was the Executive VP of UBIC North America, an eDiscovery company, specializing in the Far Eastern languages. San has worked in Corporate Strategy, Business Operations, Client Relationship and Sales & Marketing. He is highly experienced in managing projects, creating business design, streamlining operations and optimizing IT investments for growth, with consistent results in achieving fiscal and organizational objectives. He is skilled in integrating business and technical solutions to maximize operational efficiency, improving business performance and satisfying customers. San is an Engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and has an MBA from the University of Michigan. +read more
Chandni Sooad – Resident Director, India Operations
In the last 12 years, Chandni has handled assignments involving Program & Operations Management, Partnership Program Development, Business Development, Quality Assurance, Team Build-up and Training. She has managed international relationships with diverse business organizations for setting-up and managing their offshore led service deliveries. Assisted international companies to mark their presence by way of registering their Intellectual Property in India and helping them commercialize their products and services in the Indian market. She has developed indigenous marketing solutions and has been involved in product development using Indian resources. Chandni has gone through a formal PMI certification process and has deployed those practices to handle Operations, Sales & Marketing, Quality Control, Internal Process Control and continued Improvement Methodologies. She is well versed with start-up projects, from idea building to implementation, sourcing, distribution and process control. She has the capabilities of understanding and implementing new technologies along with the strength of building teams, guiding strategies and developing channel partnerships. She has been responsible for launching the Waterneer concepts in India , especially identifying key applications market segments. She was also engaged in vendor development to prepare Waterneer India for manufacturing the first unit. As part of her initiative she placed the machine in trial locations and monitored the performance to ensure that the machine performed to spec in a variety of locations involving different inlet water quality. She has graduated from Sri Aurobindo Institute of Mass Communication. Chandni has gone through a formal PMI certification process and has deployed those practices to handle Operations, Sales and Marketing. A versatile management professional with the right blend of skills for people management, talent identification and sourcing. Akshay (Toby) Syal – Director
Akshay runs the operations at our manufacturing facilities in India. He is concurrently building out the sales and marketing desks for specific product lines. Mr Syal is recognized as a specialist in decentralized waste water treatment and is an adviser to Indian Smart City aggregates. Akshay also has significant principal experience in assuming & managing financial and operating assets across the Asian region. His quantitative methods have been commercially deployed in building support and control functions to monitor and manage financial risk. Mr Syal is a Matsushita Scholar. He has a Bachelor of Engineering: Electrical & Electronics: Bangalore University and an MBA from International University of Japan. +read more
